VIKING put to the test

Submitted by claus on

Our VIKING software was put to the test yesterday, where a large group of people tried solving a variety of different computational tasks as part of an experiment designed to test how easy computational work becomes when one has access to VIKING.

The group of participants comprised a large variety in skills with both computational methods and physics/chemistry in general, ranging from novice to expert, and even the most novice users were able to complete all of the tasks not too long after the experts; hinting at just how much simpler computational work has become due to the intuitive interface of VIKING.

All participants recorded the time it took to complete the various tasks, and once the data from the experiment is processed we expect to see a significantly lower time consumption per task than if the tasks were done without the aid of VIKING - especially for the novice participants.
